Shou Wu Pian (Fo-Ti Extract) is a commonly used tonic that helps to balance qi energy, particularly for imbalances due to aging.* It is also called
Polygonum Multiforum Pills. Polygonum He Shou Wu, commonly but erroneously called Fo-Ti, and is valued by the Chinese. Unlike other blood tonics, it is not cloying, and can be taken for long periods of time.
TCM Functions: Nourishes blood, benefits and astringes jing, nourishes liver qi, benefits kidney qi, supports tendon and bone, moistens the intestines.
TCM Indications: Use for deficiencies of liver blood and yin. Counters liver fire due to deficiency. Can be used for immune system support.
